Cajun Shrimp and Steak Alfredo Pasta
Ingredients:
- 8 oz. fettuccine pasta (or your favorite pasta)
- 1/2 lb. sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1/2 lb. large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning (divided)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup bell peppers (red, yellow, or green), thinly sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup chicken or beef broth (for extra flavor)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Directions:
Cook the Pasta:
- Cook the pasta in a pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Season the Steak and Shrimp:
- In a large bowl, season the sliced steak and shrimp separately with 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning each. Toss to coat.
Cook the Steak:
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 tbsp olive oil and cook the steak slices for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Cook the Shrimp:
- In the same skillet, add another 1 tbsp olive oil and cook the shrimp for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside with the steak.
Sauté the Veggies:
- Lower the heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet and melt. Sauté onions, garlic, and bell peppers until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
Make the Sauce:
- Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and broth, stirring constantly until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens. Season with a bit more Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit more broth to reach your desired consistency.
Combine Everything:
- Add the cooked pasta, steak, and shrimp back into the skillet. Toss everything together to coat the pasta and proteins with the creamy Cajun Alfredo sauce.
Garnish and Serve:
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley. Serve hot and enjoy this flavorful Cajun-inspired pasta!
