Blue Velvet Cocoa with Marshmallows Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups milk (any kind, dairy or non-dairy)
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp blue food coloring (or butterfly pea powder for a natural blue color)
- Pinch of salt
- Marshmallows for topping (mini marshmallows work best)
- Whipped cream (optional)
Instructions:
Heat the Milk: In a medium saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it’s warm but not boiling.
Add White Chocolate Chips: Lower the heat and add the white chocolate chips. Stir continuously until they melt completely, creating a smooth mixture.
Add Vanilla & Salt: Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to balance the sweetness.
Color the Cocoa: Add the blue food coloring or butterfly pea powder to give it that rich, blue velvet color. Start with a little, and add more until you reach the desired shade of blue.
Serve: Pour the blue cocoa into your favorite mug.
Top It Off: Add marshmallows on top, and if desired, a swirl of whipped cream for extra decadence. You could also sprinkle some edible glitter or blue sugar crystals for a touch of sparkle.
Optional Garnishes:
- Blue sprinkles
- Edible glitter
- Crushed candy cane for a minty twist
Enjoy your Blue Velvet Cocoa—a creamy, dreamy treat that’s as fun to look at as it is to sip!
