Velvety Delight: Condensed Milk Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • ¾ cup heavy cream (cold)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: Whipped cream and chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Melt the chocolate. Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl and melt it over a double boiler or in the microwave. If using a microwave, heat in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Let it cool slightly.

  2. Mix the condensed milk and chocolate. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth and well combined.

  3. Whip the cream. In a separate bowl, use a hand mixer or whisk to beat the cold heavy cream until it forms stiff peaks.

  4. Fold in the whipped cream. Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture, taking care not to deflate the cream. Fold until fully incorporated and smooth.

  5. Chill the mousse. Spoon the mousse into serving bowls or glasses. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours, or until set.

  6. Serve and garnish. Before serving, top the mousse with whipped cream and chocolate shavings for an extra touch of indulgence.

Enjoy your creamy, rich condensed milk chocolate mousse!
